Its funny what a little bit of info can do to change a persective. A VERY BIG APOLOGY TO EVERYONE. she is a courageous woman--and good grief--to sing like that when sick. I FEEL LIKE A HEEL. But the small part that I saw completely freaked me out--we're talking the kind of freak out when you get the shivers and are afraid to go outside because its dark. When you are scared to drive home because it would require walking through the parking lot, so you hold your keys sticking out of your fist so you can gouge out the psycho-killer's eyes when he tries to get you. This all happened during what I think was probably a Janis Joplin tribute. I can't remember the song, but I remember that Faith Hill covered it a few years back. I heard the voice first, and I knew immediately who was singing. Yeah! Melissa Etheridge! I like her--that gutteral, raspy, angst-ridden voice. Great. AND THEN I TURN TOWARD THE TV. And there she was. Voluntarily bald. We're not talking Sinead O'Conner. We're talking Kojack. Probably not intended to incite panic. But something about it. Her head, her make-up (think-Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), and the wailing song, and her flailing about...With hair, it would have been just a great set. With the scary new coif, it all proved too much. I seriously had a nightmare about it. I also am completely petrified by Annie Lennox singing "Sweet Dreams are Made of These." Yikes. I just shuddered. In the library. Go to your happy place. Rocking back and forth...Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18283447560850988125noreply@blogger.com
